U2 dévoile “You’re The Best Thing About Me”
Après “The Blackout”, voici déjà le deuxième extrait de Songs of Experience.
Songs of Experience sortira le 1er décembre. Il comprendra des contributions de Royal Blood, Ryan Tedder de One Republic, Jacknife Lee et Steve Lillywhite, producteur historique de U2. Le disque comprendra aussi une version allongée de la contribution de Bono à l’album de Kendrick Lamar, “XXX”. Le groupe irlandais est en tournée pour les trente ans de The Joshua Tree jusque fin octobre.
Pour la petite histoire, il s’agit de la fille de The Edge sur la pochette. Songs of Experience se présentera comme une collection de chansons intimes dédiées aux proches du groupe. Dans une interview au New York Times, Bono dit aussi que ce disque est sa réponse aux élections qui ont eu lieu aux Etats-Unis et en Europe: “The elections were a shock to the system personally and a shock to the system politically, not just in America but in Europe. This is my lyrical response to both of those shocks. I leaned more on the personal than the political, but the political is there to put the personal songs in the context of time, of history.”
