Malcolm Young, le guitariste d’AC/DC, est décédé
En octobre dernier disparaissait George Young. Le groupe australien perd aujourd’hui son frère et guitariste : Malcolm Young est mort. Il avait 64 ans.
« Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young, peut-on lire sur sa page Facebook. Malcolm, along with Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band. As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed. » Et Angus d’ajouter: « As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special. He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever. Malcolm, job well done. »
Atteint de démence il y a trois ans, il avait alors quitté le groupe de hard rock pour y être remplacé par un autre Young, Stevie, son neveu. C’est des suites de cette maladie qu’il est décédé, entouré par les siens.
Le guitariste (rythmique), né à Glasgow le 6 janvier 1953, avait fondé AC/DC en compagnie de son frère Angus en 1973 à Sydney. Le riffeur en short est aujourd’hui le dernier membre originel du groupe.
